'but right now, we’re the MODELS OF THE TIME. Significant? Maybe. Hardworking? For sure.' was Kendall Jenner's reply to the 'cyberbully' Stephanie Seymour. In an interview with Vanity Fair, Stephanie Seymour had said 'They [Gigi and Kendall] deserve their own title...BITCHES OF THE MOMENT! That would be a good title for them.'

Stephanie Seymour now and then. No one will ever contest her being called original 90's 'Supermodel'. Some might argue that even at 47, Stephanie Seymour will give these girls a run for their money. She certainly hasn't lost any edge when it comes to bullying (or rather 'cyberbullying').

Kendall Jenner posted this on her website "If you choose to be a cyberbully, I’m going to stick up for myself. No one is trying to steal Stephanie Seymour’s thing, or trying to be her. I actually looked up to her. She has a daughter! I guarantee you that she didn’t imagine someone so publicly shaming her daughter when she made those comments about us being ‘bitches of the moment.’ If people want to call Gigi and I supermodels now, it doesn’t take anything away from supermodels of the past. Obviously, I have so much respect for those women, but right now, we’re the models of this time. Significant? Maybe. Hardworking? For sure.”

Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid BFF

A lot of people have reacted strongly to Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid being called 'Supermodels' in the social media. Yesteryear's model Rebecca Romijn thinks that social media stars like Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid "are not true supermodels". Where as according to designer Zac Posen "They are certainly supermodels, and they are absolutely representative of the global social-media movement that we are living in". Well if Gigi Hadid is a Supermodel with her 2.3 Million Twitter and 19 Million Instagram followers, what about Kris Jenner (Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner's Mother)? Can she walk the ramp for Zac with her 7 Million Twitter and 14 Million Instagram followers.

Jenner also claims that she’ll be ever supportive of newcomers in the modelling industry (now that she considers herself a veteran) “When I’m older, I’m going to be so nice to anyone who’s trying to do the same thing as me,” she concludes. “There are other supermodels who give me tips and build up my confidence, sending me notes after a spread comes out, saying, ‘You’re killing it.’ That’s the classy way to behave and I fully intend on being a positive influence on anyone younger than me, my entire life.”

Despite the controversy surrounding the 'supermodel' thing, Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid have come a long way since their first appearances on the runway as novelty celebrity casting. Kendall has even made news with her peculiar catwalk (which some even call 'dead-behind-the-eye'! Let the haters hate we say!). Kendall graced the runway of Chanel, Givenchy, Marc Jacobs and more. Best friends Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid made their flying debut as the Victoria Secrets Angel as the walked the ramp for Victoria Secrets in New York City with senior Angels Adriana Lima, Candice Swanepoel and Lily Aldridge.
